holiday, great celebration for the victory
of "dharma" (virtue) upon "adharma" (evil), depicted from the mythology,
when God Indra's troop defeated the demon king mayadenawa. filled up with
praying to ances fors‘ holy spirits, deities and Almighty God on this day,
the entire island is brightened with celebrations, while "penjor", the
artistically decorated bamboo poles stuck at every house entrance adorn the
both sides of the village roads. It gives an amazing view, symbolizing
prosperity.

"Kuningan"
holiday, the last day of galungan
celebration, believed to be the ascendant day of the ancentral holy spirits
and deities to heaven after sojourning for several days on this material
world. Special offerings made of yellow rice and special dishes are offered
on this day, while every family compound and temple looks amazing with
ornaments made of young coconut leaves and flowers at :

"Pemendakan" means "welcoming" procession for the deities to Sakenan temple,
held in the afternoon.
- From some main temples in Denpasar and
Sanur.
"Megarang pipis", "special event"
(snatching away the money), when certain sun of money is collected from
every family comfound after holding 2 ritual, which money is then spread out
on the village road, snatched away by the crowd of people. It is believed
that by supliying the anschestor holy spirits with the money, the
descendants will be rewarded with prosperity in return. It is usually held
before noon.

Temple anniversary celebrtion at Pura Dadia Bale Agung
started at 11.00 am. Pairs of
tanggung-tanggungan offering decorated with lunggah-lunggah are carried by
men using shoulder poles to one of the following pura-s:Gunung Agung,
Besakih, Ulun Yeh, Dalem Pengastlan, Pura Sri at 10.00am.
