03. "Pagerwesi" the word literally means "Iron fence". People pray to "Sang Hyang Pramesti Guru" (Lord of the Universe) for strong mental defence in facing wordly temtation. More lively celebrated in North Bali.

  • Pura Kehen, downtown of Bangli.
  • Pura Laban Sindu Jiwa, Kedewatan village, Gianyar regency.
  • Pura Padang Sakti, Tangtu village, district of Sukawati, Gianyar regency.

13. "Tumpek Landep" the day devoted to Sanghyang Pasupati (God as the lord of all metal instruments). Blessing ceremony is given to heirlooms, sacred weapons, all instruments and tools made of metal for proper function and magical power. Throughout Bali, especially at smiths garages and work shop.

"Mekiyes or Melasti" the procession of Hindu followers carrying temple effigies to the beach for purification ceremony in welcoming "Nyepi" the Icaka New Year.

  • Sanur and Kuta beach.

15. "Tawur Agung Kesanga" great sacrificial ceremony offered to the underworld spirits for not disturbing human being's settlement (at 12.00) folowed by procession of ogoh-ogoh (huge dolls symbolizing evil spirits) in the evening.

  • Puputan square, downtown of Denpasar city.
  • Square or cross road of town and village throughout Bali.

16. "Nyepi" the Icaka New Year 1932, the day of absolute silence for Hindu followers. When no activity is done, no fire is lit, no traveling anywhere and no amusement is heid for the day and night.

  • Throughout Bali.

17. "Ngembak" "Med-Medan" traditional event. This event is held in connection with "Nyepi" the Icaka New Year, involving maidens and bachelors of the village as to strengthen brotherhood and uderstanding among the youth. Initiated with prayer at the local temple, the group members then hug one another, getting throughly wet under water sprouted by someone. It is indeed a cheerful moment for all, held at about 15.00 pm.

  • Pura Puseh and Pura Desa, Bebalang village, south of the town of Bangli.
  • Pura Dalem Purancak, Berawa village, district of Kuta Badung regency.
  • Pura Kereban Langit, Sading village, district of Mengwi, Badung regency.

23. Temple anniversary celebrations at :

  • Pura Penataran Tangkas, Sukawati village, Gianyar regency.
  • Pura Dalem Lagan, Bebalang village, south of the town of Bangli.
  • Pura Puseh Lembeng, Ketewel village, district of Sukawati, Gianyar regency.
  • Pura Dalem Gandamayu, down town of Klungkung.
  • Pura Sanghyang Tegal, Taro Kaja village, district of Tegalalang, Gianyar regency.

24. Temple anniversary celebrations at :

  • Pura Pura Gaduh, Binoh Ubung village, east of the town of Denpasar.

  • Pura Penataran Agung (Bhatara Turun Kabeh) the dessen of all Deitis, ceremony.
  • Besakih complex, district of Rendang, Karangasem regency.
  • Pura Bukit Jati, Toya Bungkah village, district of Kintamani, Bangli regency.
  • Pura Batur, Batur village, district of Kintamani, Bangli regency.
  • Pura Masceti, Pejengaji village, district of Tegalalang, Bangli regency.
  • Pura Dalem, Tangsub village, district of Sukawati, Gianyar regency.
  • Pura Penambangan Badung, Pemedilan village, downtown of Denpasar.
